  Jason Theriot served as historian on a contracted Historic Resource Study for Harry S Truman National Historic Site which focused on former President Truman as an Elder Statesman. Jason researched Harry S Truman’s activities during his years in retirement, 1953-1972. As a leader in the Democratic Party, Truman yielded considerable influence as he helped various candidates seek office. Politicians sought him out for advice. When major events occurred, he regularly commented by issuing statements, wrote letters, or spoke directly to reporters. Summarizing his activities and plain-spoken opinions as Elder Statesman, Truman: The Elder Statesman (National Park Service 2023) helped re-invigorate an already superior NPS interpretive program and gave the park a new perspective into the enduring legacy of Harry S Truman. Jason is an excellent researcher, writer, and talented historian.

  Jason came and gave a talk for our Veterans Day Parade in Lafayette and did an amazing job. He's an engaging and knowledgeable speaker and his presentation was excellent. The information about the 'Frenchie' WWII vets I feel is so important and special and I honestly wish this presentation was shown in Louisiana schools especially around here in Acadiana where there is a big push to preserve the French language.

  A courteous professional with high standards during every stage of our ongoing 18 month company - family history book project. We certainly found the right Author and historian for our project. A charming and approachable personality during interviews, business meetings and social events. It's a privilege watch Jason frame up and write his chapter outlines. Obviously, an experienced writer. Through his own research efforts, he quickly became a subject matter expert. This armed Jason with the background to ask good quality questions during interviews.
